…earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" Jude 3.

Power for the Present Hour

Day 1 Friday 23rd December 2016

Evening Message – GS

Topic – The Empowered Christian in the World.

Text – 1 Corinthians 4:11; Luke 21:25-26; Revelations 3:10; Galatians 1:3-4; 6:14; John 16:33

The Apostle spoke about the present hour as he wrote to the Corinthians.
As we think about power for the present hour, you want to understand the hour in which we live. This present hour is the hour of insecurity and suffering, but the Lord will grant you the power
This is the hour of distress and perplexities. And it such an hour that brings us together now, to receive the power to live in this present. God will give you stabilising and spiritual power
This is the hour of trials and temptations. We experience challenges and peculiar temptations, but the Lord will give us the power to stand. There are some temptations like the arrows of the devil shoot at you, but the Lord has given us the assurance that there will be power to stand
It is the hour of conflicts and warfare –
We the assurance as we go through this, that I will overcome, because He gives us the power to overcome conflicts and warfare.
There is going to be deliverance, and redemption.
There is hour of darkness and disappointment. But this is your chance as you hold to the promises of God, you will overcome.
There is the hour of His Return that we should not forget. He came the first time and went to Calvary and died for us, and then He rose again for our redemption, that we will have the power to overcome, and He says He will come again as He went up to Heaven. This hour is known only to the Father, and the Lord wants to get us ready for His Return. That’s why we came to this Retreat, that whatever we go through, we will receive the power for the present, and as we cross over to the new year, we will be crossing over not in sickness, nor weakness, but in the power of the Lord in Jesus Name. He empowers you to conquer the world, the flesh, Satan and every demonic powers against your life in Jesus Name.
He will deliver you from every attacks, temptations and arrows coming from the world. Our living in victory, triumph and dominion is the Will of God. He will transforms your life, and empowers you to live victoriously in this world in Jesus Name.
God forbids that I should glory in my native intelligence and natural wisdom, for all this will not avail in the time of trials and temptations, conflicts and warfare, sufferings.
The peace of God will reign in your life. Every tumour of guilt, and troubles will vanish away, you will have peace at this retreat in Jesus Name.

3 points

Point 1. Prevailing Power for Encumbered Captives in the World

Mark 6:31; Luke 10:40; Mark 4:18,19; Jeremiah 4:3; 2 Timothy 2:4; Isaiah 40:28-31

There are things that comes into our lives as a normal man, that takes over our lives and make us captives. That we become slaves, struggled to be free, but we cannot because sin, sickness, powers of darkness invaded the life. The more you struggle, the more you are captured and encumbered. But today the table will turn around, and you will overcome them in Jesus Name.
This is the reason for the retreat,
Come ye yourselves apart and be renewed and receive the old time power.
Come ye yourselves and be refreshed
Come ye yourselves apart and recover. When you face battles, trials and temptations
Come ye yourselves and recuperate, and renews your life.
Come apart before you are turn apart, come apart before your are destroyed.
There are some times that good things we do in our lives can encumbered our lives like in the case of Martha.
The issue of the kingdom, challenge of the kingdom, concentration on holiness, readiness for the coming of the Lord, your victory over those besetting sins, trials, one thing is needful. I pray you will make the right choice. When things encumbered our lives, and we don’t have any time nor desire to pray, just running the rat race all over the world, and we leave our foundation, essential things, forget our salvation, the Lord will give us the strength and power to disengage from all those that swallow up our strength, and we shall win the victory.
The life became encumbered with the cares of this world. The cares of life, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word you hear during the week, so we need this retreat like this, to examine our lives to know what make the word unfruitful in our lives, and we get rid all those deceitfulness of riches, and the word will become fruitful in us in Jesus Name.
Sow not among thorns, break up your fallow grounds, disengage yourselves from those things that occupied your mind, that you are not able to bear fruits.
We are to forsake those things that hinder the power of God upon our lives.
Some times as you battle the challenges of life, you sweat and faint, is like power is gone, but you will recover lost confidence, courage and conviction, lost christian experiences, you will recover at this time in Jesus Name. This is how to recover, to wait upon the Lord, and get rid all those encumbrances in our lives, all those besetting sins, the weights that easily beset us.
I pray this will be the time, the power for our present hour, and that God will give us the power to overcome in Jesus Name.

Point 2. Preventive Power for Embattled Christians in the World

2 Corinthians 10:4-5; Hebrews 12:1-2; Songs 2:15; 1 Timothy 5:22; 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24

We need to understand and remember that there are spirits, things and people that fight against our progress in life, and then we abandon our goal, aspiration, visions and dreams because of these things that fight against our progress. But as we come to this retreat, we come to recover all. Our prayer life, victory over sin, sickness and Satan, the conviction of a conquering life, we shall recover in Jesus Name.
You try to fight spiritual battle with secular education, native wisdom, all those things cannot overcome.
We will turn over carnal weapons to spiritual and mighty weapons. You will recover your victory. We are coming back to the place of dominion in Jesus Name. Come and be victorious, no need to run away from those battles again.
Pulling down, that thing is above you, and now you will pull them down under you in Jesus Name. A stronghold, a particular sinful trend, bad habit overcomes them. It is at this retreat, that all those stronghold of sins and sickness will be pull down in Jesus Name. The time has come to pull them down. All the knowledge of the promises of God, of the doctrines, of believing God, every thing became zero in your life because of those things, but today you are going to be victorious an call the fear and cowardice of the sinful partner’s will be taken away, and you will overcome in Jesus Name.
Lay aside every weights, and the sin that easily besets sin, weakens your conscience, makes you afraid of that person, make you to forget your consecration unto God.
This battle will soon be over, and we will overcome.
All those little little things, little compromising, sin, that erodes into your convictions, consecration and holiness, and brought lust, you will over them, and you will be righteous and holy in Jesus Name.
Impurity, defilement will try to war against your life, but keep thyself pure.
Abstain from all those appearances of evil, don’t give excuse again.

Point 3. Perpetual Power for Endued Conquerors over the World.

Luke 24:49; Isaiah 40:29-31; 1 Corinthians 4:20; Romans 14:17; Luke 10:19

You cannot conquer if you don’t have power, dedication, power of purpose, power that comes as the Spirit of God is pour abundantly into your life, power that will not make you run away and hide from all those challenges and trials.
This power of salvation, greater power in sanctification, gift of power in the enduement of the Holy Spirit, power in conviction, transformation to be like Jesus Christ.
The reason we have come to this retreat is to recover power, refresh in the presence of the Lord, it’s not a retreat as usual, but we want to have power for the present hour, that challenges come, trials, temptations, duty calls, you will overcome, and then you will wait, tarry and pray until that power comes. Repentance you will make, any restitution to make, you will settle with the Lord, and with the people, and the power of ten sanctified life will come in Jesus Name.
You wait in prayer, seeking the Lord, knocking at His door of mercy.
This why we are tarrying and waiting upon the Lord in this retreat.
You will not lose focus, not complain about meat and rinks, not grumble, not fight, not struggle with anything. You will not forget yourselves, remember that you are here for the kingdom. Joy in the Holy Ghost will come upon our lives
Only the courageous will be crowned. At this crucial hour, the hour of weariness and lukewarmness, worldliness and carnality, we will be empowered and equipped to overcome. We will conquer sin, the flesh, the world and the devil.
You will walk over serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, nobody will stop your journey half way, nothing shall by any means hinder, stop, weaken you. You will be strong.
Power in salvation over sin, power in sanctification over the self, power for the present, perpetual, practical power, we will receive. Let’s seek the Lord for this power.

Day 2 Saturday 24th December 2016

Prevailing Power – GS

Topic – The Conquering Power of Crucifixion of Self

Text – Romans 6:6; Galatians 2:20; Isaiah 14:13-14; Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-6; Ezekiel 28:14-15

The reason why the Lord has raised us up as Deeper Life Bible Church, to make us to enjoy all that Calvary has provided. The power to conquer through Jesus and His grace falling upon our lives, that power will be realised in your life in Jesus Name.
Look like many people do not know what they need to know about Christ, about His grace, the journey from Adam to Calvary. There is something to know not only in the mind but experiential in Jesus Name. Knowing that the body of sin might be destroyed not cover up, not control, not subdue, but might be destroyed. Self must be crucified, the old man, and the body of sin might be destroyed.
He is the personal experience that Paul possessed, so that we can now that the possibility, experience is there for us to have as he did.
Many people do not know the difference between sin and self.
Lucifer was created without sin, but yet self brought him down.
Self brought sin, and sin brought punishment.
Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, without sin, and yet self brought them down.
He sold what he whatever to sell to them on the platform of self that was in them. That self to be like god was what the serpent used to bring them down.
If self is not crucified, our spiritual lives will still be not pleasing unto God, that is why the Lord is calling to conquer and crucify the thing that brought Lucifer and Adam and Eve down
He was perfect at the time of his creation until self raised up its own authority. Self made Him fall. That’s is why it’s so important for us to retain the spiritual life in us and get to eternity with God, self must be completely crucified. Christ has the free to set us free from self.

3 points;

Point 1. The Perverseness and Contamination by Self

Job 9:20; Isaiah 44:20; 2 Corinthians 10:12; Isaiah 65:5; Job 14:7-9

Self perverts, derails us, takes away the crown from the head of man, and bring him to be a crawling snail, it contaminates and makes us defiles.
Because of the self that abides within, and still alive in us, we will be found perverse before God.
There are many people that goes about with self confidence that they cannot fall, but they do not understand that as long that self is till there, it can bring them down.
People looks at the superficial life, external things, they don’t look at the depth of the motive behind all the good things that they do, motivated by the glory for God, but these are motivated by self. We should not compare ourselves with others.
How do you recognise that self is within? Self produces

1. Self absorption – absorbed of self, whatever they do, they do it because they are absorbed by self.
2. Self centred – always looking for self advantage, propagation, honour, because they are self centred.
3. Self interested, only interested in things that will bring profits to them.
4. Self preoccupied, the motive within is preoccupied with self, what am I going to have or doing, not for the glory and obedience to the Lord, it is self.
5. Self seeking, seeking for advantage in the house of God. They do all for self. They shield others who will do better than themselves.
6. Self serving – all their labours is just for the exaltation of self
7. Self admiration – just to look at their faces, work that they have done, never stop talking about it.
8. Self glory, glorying in self.
9. Self satisfaction – alright with themselves.
10. Self conceit – pride in self even when you can see their faults, errors and gone astray but so full of self conceit, everything is alright with them.
11. Self assertion – to assert and protect themselves. Never say that they are wrong, will not admit their faults.
12. Self confidence – just like Peter, will not watch and pray. They do not understand the depth of the christian faith, the demand of God that we should be pure in the inner mind, that self will be dealt with.
13. Self faltering – keep on talking and faltering themselves, not give you rest.
14. Self gratification – just to gratify self, and do all to bring good feeling for self
15. Self indulgence
15. Self opinionated – they are always the best, they cannot work in a team.
16. Self sufficient, they don’t need anybody else.
18. Self defense –
19. Self affirmation
20. Self will
21. Self righteousness – better than other people, more righteous, holier than other people.
More spiritual than anybody else.
Self will contaminate, defile and destroy every other good in your life. The Lord will do this in our lives. And for this to be done, the tree must be caught down.
Our lives have been spoilt by all other external sins that we did, but when we came to Christ, He cleanse, forgives and purge ll those sins. But the root, self, Adamic nature is still there, so we need to uproot that tree of self in us.
We need to uproot that self, and fill that vacancy with the power of the Spirit.

Point 2. The Purging and the Crucifixion of Self

Psalms 51:6-13; Romans 6:6,7; Galatians 2:20; John 12:24-26; 2 Timothy 2:21; 1 Corinthians 9:27

The Lord needs to take away and destroy self in us, that is why the Lord came, not just to save us.
We are saved, born again, the sin has been taken away, the branches of sins have been caught down. Now we need to deal with the root.
The call to fight Philistines was a call to David not Joab. So when he did not fulfil that call, he was at home, he began to lust after the woman, in his heart not just when he saw or when he sent the husband to the battle front, so he knew that the Lord needs to deal with the inner part of us. There is self, sin, old man and iniquity, needs purging in that inward part. He was being eaten up by self internally. He has trained himself to do activities outwardly, and yet the bones have been broken internally. Only he knew that he has lost the joy of serving the Lord. You can do all those activities for your destruction.
We may know salvation by the preaching of others, but knowing by personal experience that we are sincere with ourselves, visited the Cross, that self must be dealt with in our lives, pushing you to do good, so that you can cover up. See the activities of self, the power, association, companionship of self, so I must take self to Calvary. There comes a time in your christian life, that this self is crucified. How do you know this?
1. Self confrontation
2. Self analysis, tackling to your inner mind, to see if that is for glory of God
3. Self examination, you do this deliberate to see if there is any rat or pollution hiding in you.
4. Self reflection that you sit to reflect and think back and think through on all that you do, if it is for the glory of God or for self.
5. Self denial, that anything that will give pleasure to the self you can’t do it.
6. Self discipline, when to speak, talk, courageous, demonstrate conviction.
7. Self sacrifice, not looking for the easy way out, but the way of the Cross
8. Self forgetfulness – forget your self, honour, pride
9. Self report, go back to God every time to report yourself to God.
10. Self scrutiny – that self importance is now gone

We need to come to Calvary like Paul came, to crucify our self, the old man is taken away, the Christ is present, prominent and preeminent in us.
Through purging and crucifixion of self, God’s greater grace now produces a new life, a new God honouring and glorifying life because self is taken care of.
Do you see how people come to the retreat, at the beginning, proud, self gratifying, and at the end proud, and still self gratifying. The preaching does not cleanse and set you free, it is your response to what is preached that cleanses and purges your life. The preaching just show you how to be cleanse and purge.
Nobody will keep that body under for you, you have to do it yourself. You have to bring it under subjection in your life, put self under, until I see the evidence that you are under.
Understand that self will keep you away from heaven. It can take heaven away from you, until you make up your mind that this self is brought under.
Why don’t you stop all those activities, and take care of this self in you, to make you holy and easy for heaven.
You will be free.

Point 3. The Power of Conquerors over Self

Philippians 3:10; 2:5-8

P – Pattern of absolute surrender is Christ – Philippians 2:5
Not more self exaltation, to be a servant.
He voluntarily humbled Himself

O – Obedience of an approved soldier – 2 Timothy 2:3

Obedience to the prompting of the Spirit, and the teaching of the word of God. This just be the pattern and the priority of your life.
Obedience will bring hardship something, suffering, but you will stick to Him that has calls you into the ministry.
That you may please Him, not them, every where, among your colleagues and neighbours.
You cannot please the Lord, without displeasing those who don’t know the Lord.

W – Willingness of Entire Sanctification – 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Dead to human desire, appreciation and all the things that they do. The joy and the pleasure of the world, you are dead to all these things.
Self knows how to argue, win the argument, but self do not know the way to heaven.

E – the Emblem of acknowledged Servanthood – Luke 17:7-10

A servant cannot have his way, not imposed his way on the Master. The servant will not arrogate to himself the right to do this, not an activist in the society nor in the kingdom, they don’t do that. The church of Christ does not have activists in His church.

R – the Reproduction of His Acceptable Sacrifice – Romans 12:1-2; Romans 6:6

You will know this, this self will be crucify in you, and you will be free.

Revival Power – GS

Topic – Perpetual Power for True Holiness

Text – Luke 1:74,75; Hebrews 12:14

This gives us the passion, pursuit, practical implication of Christ working in our lives, and the hinderance we have, and it defines for us the greatest of enemy in our enemies.
Who is your greatest enemy? What enemy do you need deliverance? The one who hinders you serving God with all your heart, loving God with all your heart, that does not release you to serve God without fear, that is the enemy. If there is any enemy, a great one, a recognised one, is the one that hinders holiness in your life, that does not want you to get to heaven, wants to block the way of holiness and heaven for you, that is the enemy. The one that stands between you and your God that blocks your view, that you cannot see the promises, provision and the power of God before you. He puts a stopping mark before you. He will give us the power, present, perpetual and practical power to overcome all those enemies that wants to stand in your way between you and God.
The life of holiness is commanded, promised, provided by the Lord Himself. This holiness is not a restricted experience, area of life. It is obtained by grace, experienced in the heart and expressed in the life. Holiness is entire, tat affects our thoughts, direct our desires, monitors our conversation, with private relationships, regulates what we say, do, how we act, how we relate with anyone, that affects our public responsibilities as well. Holiness in business practise, affects our families as well, husband and wife, when they are together and absent from each, their faithfulness to the covenant of marriage, holiness that affects your finance, your attitude to money, what you sign for, that affects our friendship, the people you associate with, that affects your appearance, your look, your dressing. Holiness that affects your comportment, things you do, things you refused to do. Holiness that affects our purpose, plans, pursuits, dreams, goals for life. Holiness that affects our worship. Holiness in our spirituality, not frivolous, carefree, not careless, not a person that light but weighty. And God has promised that He will grant us perpetual power for holiness at all times before Him. This is the kind of holiness that will take us to heaven.
You understand this world is not your home, and there are people who don’t think about heaven, but about properties, lands, inheritance, they want to get you out of these your inheritances. The Bible says that even in that, you take your cool, follow peace with all men.
It takes perpetual power, strength, to understand that this holiness the Lord has called me to have, I will have it, and no enemy will minimise this experience of the christian life.

3 points

Point 1. The Insufficient Expression of Outward Holiness

Matthew 23:28; Mark 6:20; Luke 16:15; 2 Chronicles 25:2; Numbers 22:18,38; 23:10,12,26; 24:12-13; 2 Peter 2:14-15; Jude 11; Revelations 2:14; Deuteronomy 23:4-5

Nobody sees our hearts, Thoughts, expect it comes out in actions, attitudes. There are people that are outwardly holy, but we need to go beyond that, because whatever people appreciates in our lives, they are not enough to take us to heaven.
The people you work with, and acts with, they may look at your appearance and dressing, you appears to be holy, come to church, read the Bible, and things you don’t do, appear righteous unto men. All those things are good, they are the outward expression of the holy life. But in your desires, Inward feelings, are you full of hypocrites.
Herod had this outward superficial fear for John the Baptist, this was good, but not enough. He appreciated the life of Hohn to be a holy and righteous, that was good, but not enough. He even heard the word of John gladly. But when he touched about the area of his life that he was faulty.
There are many people that live the kind of life that you will justify. But God knows your heart.
Many times if you read a verse of scriptures, and not read the verse following or before, you will be deceived. The action is coloured somehow, before men, he did that which was right even in the sight of God, but not with a perfect heart. The Lord wants us to go beyond what people see, honour, exalts, but to know what is in our hearts. Go back to God, let Him search your hearts, and tell you, that He needs to purge, perfect and cleanse this in your life and heart.
You cannot find anything wrong with that verse. You will think he was free from covetousness
You will be deceived by people when you listen to what they say. Holiness is beyond what you say.
It is possible to in imitate Christians, and put in the expression of holiness outwardly without having inner holiness. There are people that if they know what they want to get out of a man, they will train themselves to do anything that will make you not to give they what they want from you, until they get it, and then they will come out in their true colours.
You will not see the spirit of covetousness in Balaam, but the Holy Spirit brought this out.
With all the expression of Balaam, he actually wants to do it, to curse the children of Israel because of the gain of money.
It’s very clear the the outward expression, behaviour before men is not sufficient to say we are holy. We need salvation and purity of heart

Point 2. The Indispensable Experience of Inward Holiness

Ephesians 5:25-27; 4:23,24; John 15:1-2; 1 Peter 1:15,16

This is irreplaceable, that we need to have from the presence of the Lord Himself. A church that is cleansed, righteous, have the desire to be holy. The purpose of giving us the word every time is not to entertain, tickle our ears, not to excites us, but to purge and prepare us for heaven.
We cannot create that heart of holiness in ourselves, that is why we go to God, and now He create this holiness in us.
How is our God? Partially, temporarily, no. But He in entirely and eternally holy. Holy in your mind, aspiration, ambition, in every time, fearlessly, courageously, uncompromising, tenaciously, persistently holy, that whatever gain or privilege that will come to you, if it decreases holiness in you, you give it up. Any relationship, job, person that may take holiness from you, that relationship and job is from hell. The holiness the Lord is calling you into is the fearless holiness, that you are not considering any man that might wants to get angry because of your holiness.
The Lord will do it.

Point 3. The Identifiable Evidence of Internal Holiness

Romans 1:4; Psalms 110:1-3

We see these evidences from all these men that will see this holiness from

1. Enoch – Genesis 5:22-24

He walked with God, in sunshine or rain, approval or disapproval of people, appreciated or despised, blue or bloom, not affected by the weather, tradition, custom, condition of the time, politics of the day, he walked with God. Marriage, having children, that is the holiness, deep conviction and consecration.

2. Joseph – Genesis 39:7-12

At this time, father and mother were not there, nobody to check him, to discipline him, but his heart was just after God.
This was a reputable woman, but he refused.
Holiness goes beyond my physical condition.
Privacy, secrecy lends power and strength to temptation.

3. Daniel – Daniel 6:1-4,10

A man of conviction, the lion’s den was there, he knew that they have signed a decreed that is irreversible, yet he stood. It is the holiness in the heart that will not fear the lost of a job, the conspiracy of men and women against him, the threat of Darius.

4. Stephen – Acts 6:3,5; 7:51,55,58-59

Honest report. Check up that degrees they got through extra moral classes, honest report?

5. Lazarus – Luke 16:19-22; Psalms 51:10

He was poor, sickly and diseased, but this did not take him to heaven. He was an Old Testament Saint. He was poor, deprived of this earthly good, but he will not accused not forsake God because of his poverty. No job, no sustenance, no healing, no health, and yet he lived a life that makes the angels to carry him to Abraham’s bosom.

6. Titus – 2 Corinthians 12:18; Titus 2:14

7. Paul and others – 1 Thessalonians 2:10

You can witness my outward action, and God can witness my inward experience.

The Lord did it for all these people, from the Old Testament to the New Covenant, and God has not changed. What He expected at that time, He expect it today. He will give us that perpetual power to live a life of holiness. Holiness, we need His power to do and possess it. He has the power today, and as we come to Him today, and we want that present, practical and perpetual power to live in holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives. He will send that power, to make you holy and righteous.
Faithful is He Who calls you, and He will do it.

Day 3 Sunday 25th December 2016

Prevailing Power – GS

Topic – The Powerful Effect of Prevailing Prayer

Text – Psalms 65:2; 55:17; Acts 9;9-11

O thou that hears prayer shall the Gentiles, women, men, sinners and saints, the high and lowly, unto Thee shall all flesh come. The people in the past, present and future dispensation, unto Thee shall all flesh come. Prayer is a means of fellowship with the Creator, the link between the Oppressed and the Redeemer, the link between the captives, the wire that connects the needy and our Benefactor, link between the children and our Heavenly Father, is the chain, link that link the sinner and the Saviour. It is the connection between those who are fainting and the Sustainer, the weak and the Powerful. A relationship with the Father, touch with the Saviour, is prayer. It is a privilege of communication between heaven and earth. Heaven is light, the earth is full of darkness. Prayer is asking, pleading, confessing, seeking, pledging, receiving from God, praising God. It is our communion with God. It is seeking and receiving forgiveness, salvation, grace, help, righteousness, strength, inheritance, fulfilment of the promises of God. That is why we pray. We are men and women in a cross roads, confused, in need of heavenly wisdom, we must pray. The Lord is calling everyone to pray.
We must pray. He supplies strength, gives victory to ten defeated, gives the experiences of life, we pray. There are dangers of the morning, arrows that fly in the day time, and demons at night, we must pray. We pray today because of the journey ahead of us, and future that we have.
Paul has just got converted, and he knew that there are enemies that will try and stop, so he knew that for him to reach his goal, he need to contact the Higher Powers, so you will reach your goals, for you will get the power for the present hour. You will pray and God will answer your prayers.

3 points

Point 1. Fervent Prayers for Indispensable Christian’s Possessions

Isaiah 1:12-20; Matthew 6:31-33; Luke 12:15-21; Mark 8:36; Hebrews 12:14

There are many people who do not understand when we talk about prayer.
There are benefits and blessings temporary and eternal. And you need to make your choice. There are people when they pray, not everything is of equal value. When God touches your heart and prepare your life for eternal home, that is a great blessing. Also the healing of your cut finger is a great blessing, but you cannot compare that to the eternal abode in heaven. This is the problem Esau had, he could not differentiate the meal of the moment and the eternal birthright. Salvation, grace and victory over temptation, holiness of heart, readiness for heaven, power of the Holy Ghost within, all these are greater than earthly blessing, that is why we pray wisely.
The priority of prayer is to settle our relationship with God.
Heaven put priority in the important things in prayer.
The Creator is passionate about relationship with His creatures. He doesn’t want those creatures to be far away. He wants us to come near, have relationship with Him.
Seek ye first the kingdom, and all these things, earthly possessions shall be added unto you. Seek that strength, salvation, holiness, Holy Ghost power first, and all these other things shall be added unto us. All the churches around us, focus on material and earthly pursuits. They don’t understand the words of Jesus. There are things of priority, things that come in the heart of God as number 1.
How do you describe and define covetousness? He gave this parable in Luke 12 to understand the dangers that covetousness pose in our hearts and lives. When you cannot moderate your desire, this the definition of covetousness by Jesus Christ. You long for more and more. Not rich in relationship with God, in holiness, in faith, trusting God for tomorrow. He will be a fool, but I pray that will not happen to you.
If it were possible for you to have money in all your local banks, and you lose your own soul, what unfortunate it will be for you. If you have the 192nd item and you don’t have the number 1 item, salvation and holiness will take you to heaven, you are the most miserable man on earth.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness. Whatever you seek for, you must add holiness to it. This is not a commodity you find in the world and in many churches, but pursue it, follow and run until you get it. After this holiness, healing, houses, children, jobs, success and all other things will come.

Point 2. Fair Perception for Identifiable Conditional Promises

Exodus 15:26; Deuteronomy 28:1-2; 2 Chronicles 7:14; John 14:14-16; 15:7

The Lord has given us promises, but we need to perceive the conditions attached to these promises.
If you are not a careless, carefree, ignorant worshipper, that you give attention to what the Lord tells us, then He will heal us. This is what makes a Christian prays intelligently.
There are promises for the sinners, backsliders, sons and daughters of God, servants of God, they are like registered and addressed letters.
Aaron could not have open up the Red Sea, only Moses could have done that. Caleb could not have stop the Sun, only Joshua could have done that. Sarah could not have pray for the house of Abimlech for the barrenness to be removed, only Abraham can do that. Peter could not have cursed the fig tree, only Jesus could have done that. So when you read the promises of God, find out what category of persons does that promise is for.
When we hearken and listen to His word and commandments, then His blessings shall overtake us in Jesus Name.
You come out of that seat of pride, and bend low before the Father as a creature talking to the Creator, humble yourselves before God.
You must ask in His Name. And then keep His commandments. There is an if, a condition in the blessings before you pray.
If you abide in Him, you will not be stealing, not a drunkard, a smoker, righteousness will be in your life if you abide in Him. There is a condition, and then those promises will be yea and amen in our lives in Jesus Name.

Point 3. Firm Persuasion with Importunate Concentrated Prayer

James 1:5-8; Romans 4:20-

You come to the Him with assurance, persuasion, confidence that this is what He will definitely do in your life, and He will do it in Jesus Name.
This is the Source of all things, come and ask for wisdom, for holiness, salvation, victory over sin, come and ask from God, and He will give unto you.
I am fully persuaded that;

– That my God will not fail
– God will meet all my needs
– The promises of God will be real in my life.

I am fully persuaded. All the attacks will go away.

Revival Power – GS

Topic – The Preserving Power of the Promised Pentecost

Text – Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8; 2:39

Here was the risen Lord speaking to His own disciples, those who are saved, and prayed for that the Father will sanctify them. And that the Great Commission is ahead of them, and now He told them to wait for the promised power until they are endured with the power from on High.
You will do in Jerusalem where they are religious, in Samaria, where they are syncretic and in the utmost part of the arty where they are idolatrous.
The emphasis of Jesus Christ is beyond the speaking in tongues, but the power to witness inspite of oppositions and trials. True Pentecostal power is available for all of God’s Children today not just for the early church.
Those who are far away and at those present then
We need of the power of the Spirit to refresh, quicken, strengthen, enlightens, inspires, illuminates, teaches, guides, reveals the Son, Sanctifier, Healer to us, to edifies us, searches and convicts us, to heals us, intercedes for us, comforts us in all the situations of life, helps us when the load is heavy to carry. Without Him we will be limited and handicap in life and ministry. With Him, you will counsel, pray, and do the Will of God in the power of the Spirit.

3 points;

Point 1. The Prophetic Anticipation of our Pentecost

Numbers 11:24-29; Proverbs 1:23; Isaiah 44:3-6; Ezekiel 36:25-27; Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:37-39

There were people on the Old Testament that were looking ahead when the Holy Ghost in power will come upon the children of God.
The Spirit came upon them, and they had spiritual insight to prophesy, and they did not cease, but went on and on.
Something supernatural always happens at the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
Now is the time that Moses was looking forward to, that all the people of God saved and sanctified be filled and saturated with the Spirit of God.
The outpouring of the Spirit was a future promise in the Old Testament. And when you have the pouring of the Spirit, you will be made known the word of God. Every where they went, the word of God came upon them whenever there is a challenge, because of the Spirit of God that is resident in them. The promises you never knew, you will know them, and get the blessings as well. It will be very easy to get your testimony anywhere, no shame to share your witness of Christ.
There will be no confusion in your mind about religion when you are filled with the Holy Ghost. You will understand the knowledge of the Almighty God
Some things better are coming upon you when you are filled with the Holy Ghost. Every form of idols are gone, the thing that holds your attention, and stand between you and God. There will be a transformation and a change in your heart. This is beyond religion and tradition, doing it as usual, there will be a change. The believer is forgiven, set free, and the Lord will write His law, words in our heart, and the Spirit that will help me, to be inside my heart, giving me strength, conviction, courage and power to overcome, in the day, and night. When you are baptise in the Holy Ghost, the Lord will make me to do something, no alternative, to walk in the statutes of the Lord.
This is not limited to a particular denomination, no discrimination, but to all flesh. When the Spirit comes, your sons and daughters shall prophesy not just playing games, and your old men, shall not retire, but dream dreams, have great visions to do more for the kingdom of God in them, and your young men shall see visions of souls to reach for Christ.
At the time of John the Baptist, he continue the chain of that anticipation. When you have the Spirit of God, lukewarmness, coldness, sleeping in church, that will vanish away, fire will come upon your life. Fervency will come upon our life.
The Promised Pentecost is coming but there must be the desire, passion and thirst for that above every other thing.
This is not restricted to a people, place nor a period.
The fullness of the Spirit had been anticipated, desired, and it is ours today.

Point 2. The Promised Answer from His Presence

Zechariah 10:1; Luke 11:9-13; 24:49; John 14:12,17; Acts 1:4,5,8; 2:1; 4:31,33

It is the time of the latter rain, and yet we must ask. People will try to use logic that since it is the latter rain, we don’t need to do any thing nor asking, but we are to ask Him, not to ask a man to lay hands on you. It is the Lord that will give the Holy Ghost.
You deserve this enrichment, enveloping of Holy Spirit power. If we ask in the right way having entered into the kingdom, and into the Holiest of holy.
The natural illustration will stop, and the spiritual illustration will begin. There are times that the child don’t have to ask and ask before providing essential things for the children, but for the spiritual, you must ask.
Even though He said that He sent the promise of the Father upon you, then we must wait, tarry for that power. We still have to pray, ask and call upon the Lord to be saved, sanctified, you will ask and tarry. When you pray, you will feel something, but then keep on praying until you be endured with power from High.
The one that makes you stretch your hands of mercy to outsiders, is the power of the Holy Ghost. Salvation and sanctification experiences are all personal.
The Holy Spirit dwells with you, at salvation and sanctification, but then move on to the Holy Ghost to dwell in you.
The promise of power in Luke 10 is personal, but now the power for outreach in evangelism and soulwinning, is this power of the Holy Spirit.
He gives and then you receives.
The promise of the Spirit is naturally occur, nobody will teach you how to speak in tongues just as nobody will teach a baby on how to suck the mother’s milk. It will happen naturally.
The outpouring, provision of Jesus, the privilege of every child of God, tarry and pray, consecrate and obtain by faith.

Point 3. The Persuasive Assurance of His Power

Deuteronomy 34:9-12; 2 Kings 2:9-15; John 15:26; 16:7-14; 14:26; Acts 5:1-3; 1:8; 8:4; 19:2

When somebody have the power, presence and preeminence of the Holy Ghost in his life, how do we know? By speaking in tongues, that is partially true, because the ass of Balaam spoke. This one makes you distinct, extra ordinary, bold, courageous, have vision that no fire of persecution can quench, that makes you to get vision even in your old age.
The evident was there in the life of Moses. He had the assurance and gift of the Spirit.
It depend on your aspiration, ambition, the value you put on the Holy Spirit.
You will go over if you have that desire, thirst, passion and asking that he did.
The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Truth, and you know that when there is error in anything no matter how small it is.
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter whatever happens to you. Your life will convince people of their sins, because of the Holy Ghost in you.
He will guide you into all truth, the truth of eschatology, and of things to come, He will guide you into that truth. He is the Author of the word, so He will teach you all things. And you will remember the word of the Lord in the times of needs.
He is the Spirit of Revelation, He will bring things to come.
Pentecost signifies power, perception, makes us to Persuasion, drives us into prayer, gives us progress, reproduces the life and ministry of Christ in us.

Day 4 Monday 26th December 2016

Last Message – Prevailing Power – GS

Topic – The Pursuit and Destiny of an Empowered Church

Text – Matthew 16:18; John 14:1-3; 17:14-15,24

We have a goal, hopes destiny, moving on and pursuing after that final home, habitation and heaven and nothing will stop us on the way.
Christ referred to the church as His own Church, and He is the One that is building that church, and this church is refer to as

1. A flock with a shepherd
2. A fold with an overseer
3. Family of same members
4. Fellowship
5. Assembly
6. Habitation
7. Temple
8. Congregation

The church is made up of called out people. Not a collection of the world, Demas, not Judas but people that are cleansed, converted and committed people. Not people that want to die the death of the righteous but not willing to live the life of the righteous. The church is the assembly of the called out ones, called out of sin, and into His righteousness. And He empowers them because they have a goal, an assignment from the Lord and a destiny in heaven.
The church is not of the world, but called, cleansed out of the world, live contrary to the world, refused to compromise with the world, but are here to convert the world.

3 points;

Point 1. The Precondition and Marks of the Conquerors

1 Corinthians 15:2

By which ye are kept, remained saved, if you keep in memory that which I preached unto you.

What are the marks we know about the pilgrims on their way to heaven

1. Sonship and daily victory over sin – John 1:12; Psalms 78:41; 1 John 3:1-3,9-10; 5:18

Keep that assurance in mind, and temptations and trials will come, stand in the victory that the Lord has given you over sin.
They receive Him totally, and turn from unrighteousness unto His righteousness. And you are not dividing Christ, but you receive Him totally. In the limitation of what I know now, I receive you now without reservation. If you turn back from Him, then you are limiting the Holy One of Israel. Don’t limit God.
A christian is not a sinner, and a sinner is not a christian.
He sinneth not. Born again, sins not. We know from experience, by His grace and for His Presence, we do not sin if we are born again.

2. Divine Ownership and absolute surrender – Proverbs 23:26; 1 Corinthians 6:19,20; 8:1-5

It’s not your life, ye are not your own. The Lord gave His life for you, and you ought to give Him your all. I am given, sold, bought and belong to the Lord entirely.

3. Humility and lowliness – Matthew 11:29; 23:12; Philippians 2:5-8; James 4:6-7,10; 1 Peter 5:5-6

This is the lifestyle of Christ. Take His yoke upon you, that is not an option, nor opinion. There are people who never learn to say no, nor restriction on their dressing, outlook, what to say, eat, how to behave, and where to go.
Those who are not humble will not get into the kingdom of God. Be humble. That wristwatch in your hand will be useful as long as it stays in its place on your hand, but if you take that wristwatch and place it near that big bell, that little wristwatch will lose its usefulness. So stay humble and be in the place God has placed you to be useful in His hands and kingdom. Be humble.
If there is arrogance, pride behind your ministration to the people of God, God will resist your usefulness. It’s takes humility to remain useful before God.

4. Daily bridle, check, limitation on the tamed tongue – Matthew 12:36; James 1:26; 3:1-2

Many people don’t understand that there are times to talk, and times not to talk. The tongue can nullifies your chance of getting to heaven. Your tongue can ruin and destroy you. At that idle moment, words of no profit, useless words come out of your mouth. If you knew that God listens, records every conversation, you will check your mouth, lip and tongue.

5. Faithfulness, fellowship and transparency in the family – Matthew 24:45; Luke 16:10; Hebrews 13:4; Isaiah 58:7

As we are nearing the end of the journey of our Christian race as we see all the signs all happening around us, this is the time to bring back the teachings of the word that are practical, and will transform our lives. Husbands and wives, living in the same home, but different in convictions and beliefs of the Bible. We must be one, united in faith. Faithful to God, to His word, to your partner, and do everything as you would have done if your partner is there.
Fellowship that is peculiar only to the wife or husband, that you will never give even the appearance of that to any man or woman.
And that you are transparent, not hide yourself from your wife or husband. Be open to one another.

6. Living with conviction with compromise – Matthew 10:33; 1 Peter 2:11,21

The world wants to mould us to follow their pattern. They will do things to break, bend and make you to their mould. They want us to deny the Lord, but we will not deny the Lord.
Let them do what they wants to do, persecution, pain, suffering let it come, I will not compromise. No one can stop me on the way to heaven. I will not deny the Lord.

Point 2. The Pursuits of Mastery for the Crown

1 Corinthians 9:24-27; 2 Timothy 2:1-5

If we are going to win the crown, we must pursue that crown and have the mastery.
We are in a race, and we are striving for the mastery. Preachers, workers, be careful so that you will not be a castaway.
The people who want to get to heaven, don’t get involved with the politics of this world. There is occultism, idolatry in the politics. A real child on his way to heaven, will not take a chieftaincy title of the world. They will suck you with the traditions, customs and idols of this world.
Pilgrims are not easy going people, seeking for the things and praise of men. They are cleansed and called out of the world, walking on the narrow way to the Heaven

They pursue mastery because

1. They crucified the flesh – Galatians 2:20
2. They put the body, tongue, flesh under
3. They abstain from all appearance of evil – 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Not because church will discipline but because you want to get to heaven, and there is a God in heaven that is watching.
4. They flee youthful lusts – 2 Timothy 2:22
There are some people that youthful lusts are limited to those in their teens, youthful lusts are every where, and for those in their old age as well
5. Deny self while others are denying Christ – Luke 9:23
6. Resist the devil and other adversaries of the faith – 1 Peter 5:8-9
7. Reject the gains of corruption – Acts 8:18-21
8. Lay aside all weights and besetting sins – Hebrews 12:1-2
Let us lay aside the things that weigh on you, slow you down spiritually, and the things that hinder you from running this race.
9. Burn the bridges behind – Acts 19:18-19
Burn the connection between you and your past.
10. Cut off the right hand of offence – Matthew 5:29
If there is somebody or something as precious, useful, tender and affectionate as your right eye or hand, causing you to backslide, going to derail you and lose your conviction and Consecration unto the Lord, cut it off. Right hand of activities.
11. Endure persecution – 2 Timothy 3:12
Persecutions will come from places you already know, or those you never expect, but expect it, endure.
12. Prevail over hellish corrupters – 2 Peter 2:19

Point 3. The Perseverance and Model of our Captain

Hebrews 2:9-10; Luke 9:51; Hebrews 12:2-4; Philippians 2:5; John 12:49,50; 14:1-3

The Lord has gone before us, and left us an example, on how to persevere till the very end. He left us a model, that the suffering did not perplex Him, but perfected Him, and we are to follow that Model.
He knew that Crucifixion, death, suffering were awaiting Him, but He set His face to go through all these.
Let not your heart be troubled, misunderstanding, persecution, misinterpretation, oppositions, let not your heart be troubled.
I will be there in heaven.

Ponder on these by Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi

When there is pride in your ministration, God will resist your usefulness

Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns

When God said the man is the head of the home, He was referring to a thinking head, a planning head and a protecting head.

Covetousness is the lack of moderation in our pursuit of material riches. It is foolishness defined.

Prayer is the link between the famished and the Sustainer. We are called to pray.

Holiness is not a restrictive aspect of our lives. It is an experience that permeates every sphere of our lives.

There is a difference between self and sin. Lucifier was created without sin, but self brought him down.

Esau’s error was that he could not distinguish the value of his birthright from that of a meal! Pray wisely.

Have fellowship with your spouse in a unique way. A fellowship the mere shadow of which you cannot share with anyone.

Self has to do with the motives behind our actions. Sometimes, good acts belie evil motives.

Sadly, it is possible, with practice, to express all the externalities of holiness without a deep internal experience.

Exalting yourself is like placing a wristwatch beside the Big Ben. Such a watch would be invisible and worthless.

Once self is crushed, Christ is present, prominent and preeminent.

A Christian is not a sinner; a sinner is not a Christian.

Deny self while others are denying Christ.

The people who want to get to heaven, don’t get involved with the politics of this world.

A real child on his way to heaven, will not take a chieftaincy title of the world.

Pilgrims are not easy going people, seeking for the things and praise of men. They are cleansed and called out of the world, walking on the narrow way to the Heaven

The tongue can nullifies your chance of getting to heaven. Your tongue can ruin and destroy you
